Award-Winning Curricula
The Academics team is proud to offer award-winning curricula designed to encourage faculty and expand the knowledge of accounting students. The curricula below is from the Accounting Professors Curriculum Resource tool and has been recognized for excellence with the Bea Sanders/AICPA Innovation and Teaching Award, the George Krull/Grant Thornton AAA Innovation in Junior and Senior-Level Teaching Award, or the Mark Chain/FSA Innovation in Graduate Teaching Award.
- Cultivating Five Minds for the Future in a Tax Course
This curriculum uses Five Minds for the Future by Howard Gardner to facilitate discussions based on tax policy and the students' minds. - Out-of-the-Box Learning in Tax Class: Students Reflect and Create Models, Pamphlets, and the Shoebox Case
This curriculum provides components outside of the traditional requirements of a tax class. Assignments require students to create something "new" by analyzing and evaluating data. Reflection papers allow students to evaluate their own learning and how they can improve. - Should Congress Take a Bigger Bite Out of Technology Companies?
This case discusses the international tax minimization and reporting strategies of Apple as well as the related U.S. congressional investigations into "Offshore Profit Sharing and the U.S. Tax Code."
