Entry Period: The AICPA Membership Renewal Giveaway (the "Giveaway"), sponsored by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (“AICPA” or "Sponsor"), begins on December 3, 2018 at 7:00 a.m. Eastern Time ("ET") and ends on December 15, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. ET (the "Entry Period"), during which time all entries must be received in order to be eligible. The computer clock of Sponsor's webmaster is the official timekeeping device of the Giveaway.

Eligibility: The Giveaway is open to AICPA members who are at least 21 years of age, who are also legal residents of one of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia or U.S. Territories. Employees, officers, and directors of AICPA, its divisions, subsidiaries, and affiliates, and the agents and advertising and promotion agencies of each of the foregoing, and any other entity that develops, produces, or distributes materials for or related to this Giveaway, and members of their immediate families (defined for these purposes as including parents, spouse, children, siblings, grandparents, and each of their respective spouses) or households (whether related or not) of any of the above, are NOT eligible to enter or win. By participating in the Giveaway, you agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the judges which are final.

How to Enter: There are two ways to enter:
(1) All eligible AICPA members who renew their membership by contacting the AICPA Member Service or online during the Entry Period will be automatically entered into the Giveaway;
(2) Other eligible AICPA members may enter the Giveaway by legibly printing their name, mailing address, telephone number and email address, and the words “AICPA MY19 December Renewal Giveaway Entry” on a 5" x 3" or 6" x 4" card and mailing it to: AICPA, MY19 December Renewal Giveaway, ATTN: OSR, 220 Leigh Farm Road, Durham, NC 27707.

All entries must be received by the close of the Entry Period in order to be eligible. All entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned. If you do not provide your name, mailing address, email address and telephone number, you will NOT be eligible for the Giveaway.

 Limit one (1) entry per person. Each entrant is eligible to win only one of the four prizes to be awarded. THE SUBMISSION OF A MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL DOES NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCE OF WINNING. NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY NOR IS A MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL REQUIRED IN ORDER TO BE ENTERED IN THE GIVEAWAY.

Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify illegible, incomplete, misdirected, late, or falsified entries. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, illegible, incomplete, misdirected, late, or falsified entries, whether or not such circumstances were caused in any way by Sponsor or one of Sponsor’s agents. Sponsor is not responsible for the unavailability or inaccessibility of any transmissions, telephone, mail, or Internet service, or unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the Giveaway.

By entering this Giveaway, you acknowledge that the judges, Sponsor, and all other businesses concerned with this Giveaway, as well as their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents, do not make, nor are in any manner responsible for, any warranty or representations, expressed or implied, in fact or in law, relative to the quality, conditions, fitness, or merchantability of any aspect of any prize.

Selection of Winners. You have not yet won. Four winners will be determined by a random selection from all eligible entries received during the Entry Period. Each winner will be eligible to receive only one of the four prizes to be awarded. Selection will take place within thirty (30) days following the closing of the Entry Period at Sponsor’s offices, located at 220 Leigh Farm Road, Durham, NC. Winner selection will be conducted by the Sponsor, the decision of which is final. By participating, you agree to be bound by the selection of the winner by the Sponsor, which shall be final and binding in all respects. The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received.  Odds of winning are approximately one in 85,000.

Each winner will be notified by at least one of the following methods:  U.S. Mail, email, telephone or overnight courier. Winners shall be required to execute and return an Affidavit of Eligibility/Release of Liability/Prize Acceptance Form within ten (10) days following notification. Sponsor will send a prize to each winner within twenty (20) days following winner verification and receipt of the above documentation. A winner’s failure to claim the prize or failure to comply with any of the Official Rules will result in disqualification and an alternate winner may be selected. If a winner’s address is incorrect, illegible, or invalid, the winner will be disqualified and an alternate winner may be selected. Sponsor is not liable for awarding any prize to an entrant who has violated these Official Rules.

Each winner, by participating in this Giveaway, hereby grants the Sponsor the right to use and publish his or her legal name and state of residence online and in print, and/or in any other media, in connection with the Giveaway.

In the event of a dispute as to the identity of a winning entrant, the holder of the email account associated with the winning entry at the time of such entry shall be declared the winners. An entrant may only win one prize.

Prizes: Each winner will receive a $250 Amazon gift card. Four prizes will be awarded, one to each of the winners selected. The prize cannot be exchanged for cash. The Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value in the event the offered prize is unavailable. No substitution or transfer of prize is permitted except as provided herein. Sponsor is not liable for any damage to the prize occurring during delivery to the winner’s address.  

The prizes shall be awarded without warranty from Sponsor of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Each winner of the Giveaway is responsible for the reporting, filing and payment of all applicable federal, state, and local taxes on receipt of the prize. The costs for goods or services not specified in these Official Rules are each winner’s responsibility.

Eligibility and Release. AS A CONDITION OF PARTICIPATING IN THIS GIVEAWAY, ENTRANTS AGREE TO RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS SPONSOR AND ITS SUBSIDIARIES AND AFFILIATES, AS WELL AS THEIR OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS AND REPRESENTATIVES FROM AND AGAINST ANY LIABILITY FOR ANY INJURY, CLAIM, LOSS, ACTION, DEMAND OR DAMAGE OF ANY KIND ARISING FROM OR IN CONNECTION WITH PARTICIPATION OR ANY ATTEMPT TO PARTICIPATE IN THE GIVEAWAY OR ANY PRIZE WON, OR THE MISUSE OR MALFUNCTION OF ANY PRIZE AWARDED.

Disputes/Choice of Law: Except where prohibited, each entrant agrees that this Giveaway shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of North Carolina, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules. Sponsor reserves the right to take such action as it deems necessary to enforce these Official Rules and ensure the fair operation of this Giveaway, such as situations in which the Giveaway does not operate properly due to technical or other unforeseen circumstances, including without limitation barring entrants who do not comply with these Official Rules, terminating or modifying the Giveaway, or modifying without prior notice these Official Rules.

By entering, entrants acknowledge and agree that any and all disputes which cannot be resolved between the parties, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Giveaway shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the General Court of Justice of Durham County, North Carolina.

Any and all disputes, claims, judgments, and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket expenses incurred (if any) in entering this Giveaway. You agree as a condition of entering this Giveaway that you will not seek, and hereby waive all rights to awards for, attorney’s fees, punitive, multiple, incidental, and consequential damages, or any other damages other than the actual out-of-pocket expenses specifically enumerated herein. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

ANY ATTEMPT BY AN INDIVIDUAL TO UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE GIVEAWAY IS A VIOLATION OF CIVIL AND CRIMINAL LAWS AND, SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

Winners List: The winners’ names will be available following the verification of the winners and the awarding of the prizes. You may also request a copy of the Official Rules or the names of the winners list by sending a self-addressed, #10 business-size envelope to: AICPA, MY19 December Renewal Giveaway, ATTN: OSR, 220 Leigh Farm Road, Durham, NC 27707. Indicate "Rules" and/or "Winners’ List," as appropriate, on the front of your outer mailing envelope, in the lower left-hand corner. All other Giveaway inquiries may also be directed to this address.

Use of Data: Sponsor will collect personal data about you in accordance with Sponsor’s privacy policy. Please review the Sponsor’s privacy policy athttps://www.aicpa.org/privacyandterms/privacy.html .  By participating in the Giveaway you hereby agree to Sponsor’s collection and usage and release of your personal information as described in Sponsor’s privacy policy and as authorized in these rules.

Sponsor: This Giveaway is sponsored by AICPA. If you wish to be excluded from any further offers or giveaways by AICPA, send a letter informing AICPA of your preference to AICPA, ATTN: Member Value - Offer/Giveaway Exclusion, 220 Leigh Farm Road, Durham, NC 27707. Upon receipt of such notification, AICPA will not send further giveaway materials to the address you specify.
