GASB COVID-19 TB
The GASB is expected to issue an exposure draft of a proposed TB, Accounting and Financial Reporting Issues Related to the CARES Act of 2020 and COVID-19, after a special meeting to be held on June 9, 2020. You can listen to the live GASB meeting, which will be held from 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM (Eastern Time). Access the agenda and information on how to listen here.
The TB will propose application guidance for the recognition and presentation of transactions and other events related to certain programs established by the Coronavirus Aid Relief and Economic Security Act of 2020 (CARES Act) and the COVID-19 pandemic. The GASB expects to post the exposure draft on its web site (www.gasb.org) no later than Wednesday, June 10. Due to the need for guidance in the short term, the exposure period will likely be only 15 days. So, you should be on the lookout for the proposed TB if you are interested in reviewing it or commenting. * * * * *
