Fair Value Measurement Performance Frameworks
The Certified in Entity and Intangible ValuationsTM (CEIVTM) Mandatory Performance Framework (MPF) and the Certified in the Valuation of Financial InstrumentsTM (CVFITM) Financial Instruments Performance Framework (FIPF) are practical non-authoritative frameworks that define the level of documentation and performance that is necessary to provide supportable and auditable fair value measurements.
CEIV and CVFI credential holders are required to comply with these frameworks to ensure confidence in the consistency and transparency in their work, all to the benefit of the public interest. When a valuation falls within the scope of either framework, the valuation professional who has both credentials may follow the framework most appropriate for the engagement. Broader adoption is encouraged.
