ERISA Section 103(a)(3)(C) Audits Two-Part Series Webcasts
This two-part live webcast series will provide a general overview and discussion of the new requirements for planning and performing SAS 136 ERISA Section 103(a)(3)(C) audits (formerly limited scope audits) and walk participants through the audit requirements in AU-C section 703, Forming an Opinion and Reporting on Financial Statements of Employee Benefit. Plans Subject to ERISA. These new requirements will be effective for calendar year 2021 plan year audits performed in 2022.
ERISA Section 103(a)(3)(C) audits - Part 1, which will be held on Wednesday, November 10, from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time, will walk through the basics of an ERISA Section 103(a)(3)(C) audit with a heavy focus on the changes that came with SAS No. 136. It will highlight areas practitioners should focus on as they get ready to implement SAS No. 136, including:
- Engagement acceptance procedures
- Engagement letters
- Consideration of relevant plan provisions in risk assessment and response
- Changes to the management representation letter
- Auditor's report changes
- Managing client expectations throughout the engagement
