Register for the 401(k) Basics Webinar 4-Part Webinar Series
This 4-part series is an excellent program for staff or in-charge auditors who are new to ERISA audits, as it provides an understanding of 401(k) plans and how they work, information about EBP audit planning and risk assessment, and practical information about unique plan audit areas.

- Part 4-Investments and Current Topics Live (Thursday, May 30, 1:00 - 3:00 pm, ET)
Parts 1 and 3 will be rebroadcasts of the live webinars offered in 2017. Industry experts will be available to answer participant questions submitted during the rebroadcasts. Parts 2 and 4 will be live events, and Part 4 will include an open question and answer session at the end of the webinar.
The webinars will address:
- Part 1-Introduction and Planning Rebroadcast The panel will discuss basic information about 401(k) plans including plan structure, standard plan documents, key plan officials and service providers, and the unique issues that need to be considered when planning these audits.
- Part 2-Participant Data and Contribution Testing Live The panel will discuss what participant data needs to be tested and why, the different ways a participant can enroll in a plan, the various types of contributions received by a 401(k) plan, parties in interest and prohibited transactions. Additionally, the panel will discuss the common issues and errors seen in these areas.
- Part 3-Distribution Testing, Audit Wrap-Up and Notes to Financial Statements Rebroadcast The panel will discuss the various types of plan distributions and benefit payments, unique plan financial statement disclosures, and wrapping up the audit. Additionally, the panel will discuss the common issues and errors seen in these areas.
- Part 4-Investments and Current Topics Live The panel will discuss various types of plan investments, investment disclosures, and limited scope and full scope audits and the common issues and errors typically seen in these areas. The panel will also discuss the current and hot issues for the 2019 audit season, along with an open question and answer period.
The webinars will be moderated by Marilee Lau, past chair of the AICPA EBPAQC Executive Committee (EC) and Michelle Buckley, Meaden & Moore, EBP Expert Panel (EP) member. Presenters on these webinars will include EC members Jennifer Allen, Crowe LLP; Doug Bertossi, CliftonLarsonAllen LLP; Kim Booth, Ross Lane & Company, LLC; Gwen Stoute Bryant, HoganTaylor LLP; Monique Elliott, Elliott Group PLLC; Beth Lee Garner, BDO; Gary Greer, Dixon Hughes Goodman LLP; and Travis Jack, Metz & Associates PLLC.
Participants can receive up to 8 hours CPE credit with paid registration. The webinar audio and slide presentations will be archived on the Center website under Past Events. No CPE is available for listening to the archived event.
