AWSCPA Scholarship Award

Scholarship Overview: The AWSCPA Scholarship Award is part of the AICPA Legacy Scholars program. This award provides financial assistance to outstanding female students majoring in accounting or an accounting-related field. All applications must be completed and submitted by the deadline to be considered. Students interested in being considered for more than one AICPA Legacy Scholarship awards need only complete one application—applicants will be evaluated for all awards for which they are eligible.

Scholarship aid may be used only for the payment of expenses that directly relate to obtaining an accounting education (e.g.; tuition, fees, room and board, and/or books and materials). Awards are non-renewable and past recipients may not re-apply. Payments are sent directly to the student's financial aid office on behalf of the student.

Background: The AICPA Foundation, the AICPA’s Women’s Initiatives Executive Committee and its AWSCPA task force sponsor the AWSCPA Scholarship Award to support the success of women in the accounting profession.

Award Amount: $5,000 per recipient for one year. Payments are sent directly to the school for credit to the account of the student. This scholarship is a non-renewable award. 

Number of Recipients: Up to 4 students per academic year

Application Process: Applications for the AWSCPA Scholarship Award become available on December 1st and close March 1st. Find application details on ThisWaytoCPA.com 

Selection Process: A scholarship selection task force will review all qualified applications and select up to four scholarship recipients based on academic achievement, leadership and future career interests in accounting. All applicants will be notified by email of the final selection by August 1.
