Dear Center Members: |
Each year, during the months of April through June, the GAQC holds several very important Web events to assist you with planning and performing your 2019 audits. This GAQC Alert provides the following important information about these upcoming events as follows:
|
|
SLG Audit Planning Event
If you perform SLG financial statement audits, you should be aware that the GAQC will hold its annual Web event, 2019 SLG Audit Planning Considerations, on Tuesday, May 14, 2019, from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM (Eastern Time). This event is intended to help you learn about key audit and accounting developments for SLG financial statement audits at the time when many are beginning the audit planning process. The presenters are Joel Black, CPA, Mauldin & Jenkins LLC, and Michelle Watterworth, CPA, Plante Moran. Topics to be covered include:
- Current developments affecting SLG audits;
- Emerging practice issues and risky areas; and
- Perspectives of practitioners serving on the AICPA State and Local Government Expert Panel.
GAQC Member Registration: GAQC members can register now using the continuing professional education (CPE) or no-CPE options.
To ensure you receive CPE for this Web event, please complete your online registration by noon on Tuesday, May 14, 2019. If you are interested in registering a group, the above Web event registration page provides you with "how to" and pricing information. A "Webcast Group Viewing" document also provides additional instructions.
NFP Risk Alert Event
If you perform financial statement audits of NFPs, you should be aware that the AICPA Not-for-Profit Section is sponsoring a CPE Web event, Not-for-Profit Entities: 2019 Audit Risk Alert, to be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM (Eastern Time). This Web event is being opened to GAQC members and will cover issues directly relevant to your 2019 year-end NFP audits, as well as provide you with a strategic look at what's important for NFPs. Key topics include:
- Industry, regulatory and economic developments affecting NFPs; and
- Audit and accounting developments
GAQC Member Registration: GAQC members can register now using the CPE option (use discount code "GAQC" to obtain a 20% member discount).
2019 GAQC Webcast Reminder
There is less than a week left to register for the GAQC's required annual Webcast, GAQC Annual Update, to be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2019, from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM (Eastern Time). Details about the topics to be covered can be found in GAQC Alert No. 378. Keep in mind that you are encouraged to view the live offering so that you have the information covered prior to starting your 2019 audits. However, there will be several CPE rebroadcasts for those that have scheduling conflicts. Access registration information.
Hold the Dates
Looking forward to your 2019 single audits, you should be prepared for more change than usual. OMB is making significant revisions to the OMB Compliance Supplement and you will need to use an updated Data Collection Form at the end of your audits that will require the text of findings and other documents to be transferred into the Form. Hold the following dates for GAQC Web events on these topics and watch for a future registration alert. Both events will be held from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM (Eastern Time).
June 5, 2019, 2019 OMB Compliance Supplement and Single Audit Update
June 19, 2019, 2019 Data Collection Form and Federal Audit Clearinghouse Update
PS: Our "summer fun" Web event CPE rebroadcast week will run from June 24 – 28, 2019.* * * * *
