New AICPA Accounting and Valuation Guide Valuation of Portfolio Company Investments of Venture Capital and Private Equity Funds and Other Investment Companies provides nonauthoritative guidance and illustrations regarding the accounting for and valuation of portfolio company investments held by investment companies within the scope of FASB ASC 946. This guide may also be useful for non-investment companies, such as corporate venture capital groups or pension funds, which make similar investments.

The CVFI credential is granted by the AICPA to qualified professionals who demonstrate considerable expertise in performing and or reporting on fair value estimates of financial instruments for financial reporting purposes. CEIV Candidates: ABV Exam Available Year-Round

Whether you are a CPA or a Finance Professional, you will be required to pass a Qualifying Valuation Exam* and the CEIV Exam to obtain the AICPA's CEIV credential.
The ABV Exam is the Qualifying Valuation Exam offered by the AICPA.
The ABV Exam is now available year-round.
*Other Qualifying Valuation Exams include ASA BV 201-204 or BV Challenge Exam, CFA level 3 Exam, and CBV Exams, and the RICS APC or SPA.
