Cynthia S. Lund is Vice President of State Society Affairs at the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA). Lund joined the AICPA in August 2000, and is responsible for working with state societies in all facets of collaborative efforts, including grassroots advocacy on federal legislative issues. She also works closely with the Center for Audit Quality in coordinating its work as part of the AICPA, and she supported AICPA President Barry Melancon during his tenure as a member of the Treasury Department’s Advisory Committee on the Auditing Profession.
Prior to joining the AICPA, Lund served as the executive director of the Missouri Society of CPAs since January 1994. Before becoming the chief staff executive in Missouri, she had served as the Director of Communications and Quality Review for the Ohio Society of CPAs.
She graduated from Duke University in 1979 with a degree in economics, and she earned her MBA from The Ohio State University in 1991.
Lund served on the AICPA’s Strategic Planning Committee and the AICPA/NASBA National Steering Committee on Regulation of the Profession. She is vice chair of the board of directors of Shared Services LLC, and is a member of the American Society of Association Executives. She is a former member of the AICPA’s CPE Board of Management, Information Technology Executive Committee and the board of directors of the CPA Society Executives Association.
